Application for the Master in Biomedical Computing

Who can apply?

Applicants for the Master in Biomedical Computing must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a similar subject.

When can I apply?

1 March - 31 May every year

How do I apply?

First apply online on our  web portal TUMonline, then, send  your documents by post   to the Student Admission before the end of the deadline.

The Selection Process

1st step: Your documents are checked

Your documents are checked for validity by our Admissions Office and are then forwarded to the Department of Informatics for the selection. A commission evaluates them and decides whether

  • you are directly admitted to the program,
  • you are invited for an interview with a professor (2nd stage)
  • you will presumably not be able to fulfill the requirements of stage 2 and will not be admitted.

2nd step: The Interview

Some applicants may be invited for an interview at the Department of Informatics in Garching. International applicants living abroad can do the interview by phone. Further information can be found  here.

Time schedule and dates for interviews

  • Online application and submission of all requested documents:
    1 March to 31 May

  • You will get the results of stage 1 and an invitation to the interview if you are not directly admitted: July - August

  • interview by phone: personal date (for international applicants living abroad) or in Garching on Tue, 3 July and Wed 12 Sept

  • Beginning of lecture period: 15 October 2012
