Application Process for the Master of Informatics Program
Who can apply?
Any student who has completed a bachelor's degree or is about to finish a bachelor's study program in informatics or in a similar computer science field is eligible. Students must have a strong command of English. Ideally they should have completed their bachelor's degree no more than two years prior to their application.
Please note that we will compare your transcript to the curriculum of our Bachelor of Informatics program. Applicants with a focus on electrical engineering whose study program did not cover the main subjects in informatics cannot be admitted.
When can I apply?
Application period for the winter semester:
beginning of January - 31 March (recommended if you need a visa) or 31 May (if you do not need visa)
Application period for the summer semester:
September 1 - November 30

The admissions process
Your documents are first reviewed by our Admissions Office to determine your eligibility to apply and then are forwarded to the Department of Informatics. Some candidateds will be notified of the decision at this stage, while others may be invited to interview with a TUM Informatics professor by phone.
