Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM)

CDTM

  • The is a joint interdisciplinary institution of education, research and entrepreneurship of the  Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the  Technische Universität München.
  • CDTM is the first elite studies institute of Bavaria.  The program is integrated into the  Elite Network of Bavaria, as an initiative of the Bavarian State Government.
  • the CDTM as part of the Elite Network of Bavaria offers the students the study program „Honours Degree in Technology Management“ . The interdisciplinary graduate program Technology Management is designed for highly talented students of Management Science, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from  Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and  Technische Universität München. The two-year curriculum which is integrated into the regular university studies focuses on technology management and entrepreneurship in the international environment of fast moving industries such as telecommunications, information technology and new media.

Program Focus

In addition to elite education, research activities constitute an important branch at CDTM. They are concentrated around the TIME-sector (Telecommunication, Information Technology, Media & Entertainment), while setting a focus on applied output and prototype development. CDTM is involed in government and private funded research projects.

Student Selection

  • Every semester, about 200 apply for the CDTM program, from which around 20 students will be selected through a multilevel selection process.
  • CDTM graduates have to spend at least one semester at a prestigious foreign universities, and often also make an internship abroad.
  • The graduates will remain in the alumni association of the CDTM and the Elite Network of Bavaria.

By the way: The TUM organizes the  Ferienakademie yearly in South Tyrol's Sarntal – in cooperation with the universities from  Erlangen and Stuttgart. For the past 25 years now, students can get together in Sarntal for two weeks to talk about topics in informatics among other things.
