Bachelor of Information Systems
In economics as in administration/management the integration of economic/financial, technical and social aspects are of significant importance. In this complex environment made up of people, organisations, economics, technical information and communications, business data specialists shape the information society.
The information systems discipline deals with the use of information and communications technology in corporations and in management/administration. The focal point lies in the analysis and creation/formation of value added business processes and their technical information infrastructure. This encompasses the creation of business processes and models innovative information systems, the support of design, decision making and teamwork as well as information and knowledge management.
At the Technische Universität München the Faculty of Informatics covers the following Information Systems fields of competence/areas of reponsibility: Decision support systems, information management, characteristic for the Information Systems. Characteristic of the Information Systems at the Technische Universität München are:
- the orientation of social, technical and economic aspects with the creation of innovations of use and value added networks,
- the manufacturer's association- and user perspectives on business software, the close collaboration with companies and administration/management and
- the transfer of knowledge through business start-ups.
Summary: Business data processing specialists represent the theoretically established and practical connection between informatics and business administration.
