The Information Systems bachelor’s program focuses on the communication and computing infrastructures of industrial companies and public organizations. Information Systems students study information systems management, business processes and models, computer systems, planning and decision-making, and knowledge management. Graduates of this program are able to combine information technology with management concepts in a business environment and are qualified to enter a wide variety of careers in industry.

Curriculum

The Bachelor's in Information Systems is taught over six semesters through a combination of lectures, seminars, and practical project work. The program aims to give students a thorough education in the theoretical and practical elements of information systems, computer skills, software design, and management concepts for use in complex corporate environments.

The emphasis of the program is on the core areas of information systems, economics, informatics, and the basic principles of mathematics. In the first semesters of the program, you will focus on programming, software engineering, marketing, bookkeeping, and business processes. Theoretical knowledge is applied in practical exercises, programming internships, and seminars.

The second half of the program focuses on algorithms and data structures, databases, planning and decision-making, project management, accounting, and financial management. In the last year of your studies, you will have the opportunity to use the knowledge and skills you have acquired by taking on projects in conjunction with leading companies. You will also study a specific area in depth in your bachelor's project or thesis.

Who Should Apply?

You must be able to submit  proof of advanced German language skills to qualify for admission to this program. All modules in this program are taught in German only.

You should also be able to demonstrate an aptitude for mathematics and an interest in economics, along with good German and English language skills. You should be able to communicate well with others and work as part of a team. It is the ideal choice for individuals who are aiming to build their technical knowledge and skills in order to develop and manage information systems, business processes, and software.
