1. Am I eligible for the study program I want to apply for?
Eligibility (formal requirements)
The Admissions Office checks the eligibility of every applicant after having received his or her application documents according to the guidelines issued by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (States) of the Federal Republic of Germany.
As the eligibility check is very complicated, we cannot give you any final and valid information without having received your documents.
In order to know whether your Bachelor's Degree is recognised in Germany, you can check the website anabin (in German only), ask for a certificate from the Central Office for Foreign Education via e-mail zabservice(at)kmk(dot)org in Bonn (fee: 100€) or you just apply!
Eligibility (qualitative requirements)
The quality of an application is assessed by the Department. Most important criteria are the content of your study program and your grades (they should be above average). With a Bachelor's program focused on Electrical Engineering for example, you cannot be admitted to the M.Sc. Informatics (see: "Who can apply?" here). However, you may be admitted to the M.Sc. Robotics (taught in German).
GRE, recommendation letters etc. are an asset, but are not obligatory. Please check the respective application website!
