Schüler.In.TUM - Studying during school days
The programme „ Schueler.In.TUM“, which is basically Informatics-early studies for gifted students, has been in effect since the winter semeser 2007/2008. The programme which is free for participating students is compatible with the daily school routine: courses and practical training to be attended take place in the afternoons. The acquired credits will be recognized in a later course of study and the duration of the course of study will thereby be shortened.
Students which come from the Greater Munich Area, are between the ages of 15 and 18 and spend 2-3 afternoons at the TU München. In the 2007/2008 winter semester they attended a four-hour lecture on "The Introduction to Informatics I" as well as a three hour practical training "The Basics of Programming". All students successfully completed the first semester and received 12 ECTS points which could be credited to a future course of study.
