In the four semesters of the Master's in Automotive Software Engineering program, you will expand your knowledge of informatics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, information technology, and economics. The program is structured into the four areas of software engineering, automotive technologies, testing and verification, and organization and management. You will complete a range of compulsory and elective modules in these areas.
- Software engineering introduces you to the concepts and methods involved in designing advanced software systems. The topics covered are software engineering basics, automotive-related applications, design techniques, advanced programming, and human-machine interfaces.
- Automotive technologies broadens your knowledge of hardware-related technologies. You will study the basics of mechatronics, signal processing, vehicle engineering technology, embedded technologies, and standard software.
- Testing and verification looks at the basic principles involved in designing accurate testing systems. The topics covered include mathematical basics, fault finding and debugging, verification, and diagnosis.
- Organization and management allows you to develop valuable economic and management skills alongside your technical expertise. You will study project organization, planning, business skills, corporate management, quality management, and professional skills such as staff management.
In the final semester of the program you will complete your master's thesis. TUM Informatics maintains strong links with all leading German vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, providing numerous opportunities for research projects, practical experience, and support.
