Arrange an appointment now
To anybody who works or studies in the FMI building:
Since Winter Term 2011 / 2012, the Faculties of Mathematics and Informatics have been offering childcare in the Kinderzimmer 03.010.22B. The backbone of that service are planned bookings, for example for every Thursday afternoon or for 5 specific Friday mornings. For the winter term, we need to set up a new timetable. Hence, please let us know at kinderzimmer(at)mailschlichter.informatik.tu-muenchen.de your requirements for childcare for the months of October 2012 through March 2013. There will be a further Call for Bookings for the summer term 2013.
Please let us know your requirements by Friday, 12 October 2012. If you don't know yet when you will need childcare in the winter term, please indicate if you might want to use the service and give us the following information by Friday, 19 October 2012:
Dates, times, name and e-mail address of parent working or studying in the FMI building, name and age of child.
If there is some flexibility in your requests, please indicate. For example: I'd like to bring my child two mornings a week; which two days of the week is flexible.
Please keep in mind that the childcare service is meant to complement any regular arrangements you have, not as your child's main external care.
If you have spontaneous need for childcare that you cannot foresee now, please contact as as soon as possible at kinderzimmer(at)mailschlichter.informatik.tu-muenchen.de, at least one day in advance. We will then try to accomodate you and let you know.
Also contact us as soon as possible if you have visitors who need childcare for their children or if you wish to offer childcare during some kind of event (seminar, workshop, conference etc.)
We are charging a small fee of 3 € per hour to students and persons on stipend and 5 € per hour to employees / salaried persons. Half prize is charged for siblings. Coupons (Wertmarken) are sold by Mrs Viehl, room number 03.04.052, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the afternoon after 2 p.m. Please bring exact change, if possible. The coupons stay valid undefinitely, so we suggest to buy some en bloc if you use the service regularly.
This offer is open to all persons who study or work in the FMI building, including guests, for their own children, grand-children or any children who are temporally in their care. The age of the children is typically between 1 and 4 years, but younger or older children are also welcome.
A parent or a parent's delegate needs to be reachable per mobile phone while a child is in the Kinderzimmer.
The Kinderzimmer 01.05.014B is available to parents who supervise their children themselves.
We hope that you and your children are happy with these arrangements. Please let us know if there are any problems, wishes, or suggestions.
Best regards,
Anne Brüggemann-Klein and Christina Kuttler
Opening of the children's rooms
Finally we've made it. The children's rooms are furnished and are just waiting for their first users. We want to celebrate the opening of these rooms together with you. The details follow in the official invitation below:
== Invitation ==
The faculties of mathematics and informatics cordially invite all interested persons, gladly with children, to celebrate the opening of our two joint Kinderzimmers:
Monday, the 6 June 2011, starting at 4 p.m. in the Magistrale
We would like to discuss briefly status quo and the further plans with you. Then we are going to proceed informally with snacks and the option to visit the Kinderzimmers 01.05.014B und 03.10.022B, that will be available to students and employees of the two faculties shortly.
Looking forward to your participation!
Prof. Dr. Anne Brüggemann-Klein (IN)
Prof. Dr. Christina Kuttler (MA)
The establishment of the Kinderzimmers is made possible by the generous support of the TUM.Diversity, TUM.Family, with financial means of the Exzellenz-Initiative.
Survey about the children's room
To get a first impression about the needs for a children's room we would ask all interested people to answer some questions about it.
Please send your answers per email to Ms. Kuttler, women's representative and co-initiator of the faculty of mathematics: kuttler(at)ma.tum.de
Questions:
Would you like to look after your child /children there on your own?
Would you like to access care through other people?
Or would both be a possibilty for you?
If care is desired: How flexible should it be possible to request it?
Is it also helpful if caring staff is available in any case to preassigned times?
How old is your child / are your children?
Could you approximately estimate how often you would like to use the children's room? (If possible, a specification of weekdays, times of day etc. as well as information about the situations in which you would like to use the children's room, are very welcome)
Do you have any special requirements or wishes regarding the children's room?
