This video illustrates the developed  Software Cartography approach since 2004 from the chair of  Prof. Matthes ( Software Engineering for Operational Information Systems), in order for complex software environments in large companies (e.g. Banks, Insurance Companies, Airports, Automobile Manufacturers, Telecommunications companies) to be described through intuitive graphical representations.

Application landscapes in companies consist of networked information systems that have been conceived, developed, modified, carried out, utilised and financed by people with very different interests. The software cartography supports the communication between these people through target group-specific graphical representation suitable for integrated and strategic management observation. Analogous to Cartography  Software Cartography  is perceived as science and technology for the visualisation of information with respect to the application landscape.
