Application Process for the M.Sc. Biomedical Computing Program

Who can apply?

Any student who has copleted a bachelor's degree or is about to finish a Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a similar subject.
Students must have a strong command of English and ideally have completed their bachelor's degree no more than two years prior to their application.

When can I apply?

Beginning of January -  31 March (recommended if you need a visa) or 31 May (if you do not need visa)

Step 2: Apply online on our  TUMonline web portal!

Step 3: Send  your documents by mail to the Student Admissions Office before the application period closes.

The admissions process

Your documents are first reviewed by our Admissions Office to determine your eligibility to apply and then are forwarded to the Department of Informtics. Some candidates will be notified of the decision at this stage, while others may be invited to  interview with a TUM Informatics professor by phone.

Important dates and deadlines

  • Online application and submission of all required documents:
    beginning of January to 31 March (recommended if you need a visa) or 31 May

  • Admissions decisions, incl. interview invitations by e-mail: March - August

  • Interview by phone
    Personal date when your documents have been checked
    Interview in Garching
    July 2 and September 11

  • Program start (lecture period): 14 October
