Career Opportunities

There is a multitude of job opportunities created by medical engineering companies and hospitals seeking skilled computer scientists. Exemplary companies include Philips, Siemens, GE, BrainLAB, TomTec, Definiens and Zeiss. Graduates holding a Master's degree in Biomedical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Interventions from TUM can pursue a career in research institutes or industry, in both theoretical and application-oriented fields. To name just a few, typical topics to work on include: imaging technologies for medical diagnosis, computer aided navigation in treatment and surgeries, software for radiation treatment appli-ances and medical visualization techniques. Munich and its surroundings offer a vast array of potential em-ployers.
From an academic point of view, the target journals of experts in biomedical imaging and computer assisted interventions repeatedly have the highest impact factors in the Computer Science community, which clearly reveals a continuous demand for researchers in this field.
