Honours Program
Together with its partner programs "Computational Mechanics" (at TU München) and "Computational Engineering" (at University Erlangen-Nuremberg), the CSE program forms the "Bavarian Graduate School of Computational Engineering" ( BGCE). Since spring 2005, this association of master programs offers an honours program funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria, an initiative by the Bavarian state government to promote highly qualified students.
The Bavarian Graduate School offers additional courses to its most capable and dedicated students. The cornerstones of our elite programme are:
- extensive project work, either as junior team in current research projects, or in cooperation with an industry partner;
- summer/winter academies and block tutorials for a deeper understanding of your fields of interest;
- seminars on soft skills like presentation and communication, teamwork, management and leadership, and related topics.
Thus, the elite programme strives to advance both scientific education and personal skills of selected students. The extra effort - your outstanding performance in the master programme assumed - will be rewarded by the academic degree of a Master of Science with Honours, which shall be a hallmark of outstanding achievement in your studies.
CSE students can apply for this honours program during their first semester. An honours board will decide on the application on basis of the student's grade average in the first semester, taking also into account his or her individual background, talents, and course plans. Honours courses start with the second semester.
The application form for BGCE can be found here.
