Note: I frequently use the easier (but unofficial) form of my name "Gerasimos" → "Gerasimakis" → "Makis".

  • Fluid-structure interaction (FSI), Conjugate heat transfer (CHT), Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Research software engineering, software sustainability

Research projects

  • Dissertation "Flexible Algorithms and Software for Complex Geometric Multi-Scale Coupling" (2018 - today)
  • Project ATHLET-preCICE, together with GRS (6/2019 - today)
  • Co-developer of preCICE, a free/open-source solver coupling library for multi-physics simulations with long history and users in several countries. As this project grows and targets users outside our research group, I am also interested in good software engineering practices, as part of the research project preDOM. (2017 - today)

Running student projects

  • Muhammad Arslan Ansari is doing his Master's Thesis for M.Sc. CSE. The working title is "1D-3D partitioned FSI simulations of elastic tubes". In this work, we are investigating a combination of the elastic-tube-1d and elastic-tube-3d FSI cases to form a fluid-fluid-structure scenario.
