Courses and Exams during Summer Semester

Teaching in the summer semester of 2022 will once again take place on campus - supplemented in a meaningful way by digital formats. On-site attendance is once again a prerequisite for regular study and there are no longer any special regulations. In the summer semester 2022, the study progress monitoring will be continued again.

For more information, please visit central TUM Corona web pages on studying and teaching.

On the TUM information page Coronavirus: Studies, Teaching and Exams you can find the following information:

"For students who are enrolled in the winter semester 2021/22 and not on leave of absence, the deadlines to achieve academic progress requirements are extended by one semester to accommodate any problems arising from the Coronavirus. This decision is made for all students and does not require a separate application to the responsible examination board.

If a corresponding extension of the deadlines was already granted in the 2020 summer semester, winter semester 2020/21 or summer semester 2021, the deadlines to achieve academic progress requirements will be extended by a further semester."

This means that all students who are enrolled in the winter semester 2021/22 and are not on leave of absence will automatically receive a prolongation of deadline for credit limits at the end of the summer semester (like for SoSe 2020, WiSe 2020/21 and SoSe 2021). Consequently you have an(other) extra semester to successfully meet your deadlines and/or complete your studies. A prolongation of the deadline for credit limits will not be entered either on your performance records (transcripts) or on your degree certificate. Students who have been enrolled in all four of the aforementioned semesters, and have not taken a leave of absence, will thus receive a total of four prolongations.

These regulations do not apply to admission requirements / bridging courses (Master) (see below).

Information about virtual office hours, telephone consultation hours and onsite consultation hours can be found on the respective office hours pages, these are linked on the page of the Academic Advising.

Bridging courses, which were imposed on you for admission to your Master's program, must still be passed within a strict one-year time limit (30.9. or 31.3.). You may only take the exam for a bridging course twice.

Currently, you may apply for an extension of this deadline (one-year time limit) should you be unable to take the exams for your bridging courses twice within the deadline due to the Corona pandemic. To do so, you will need to submit an informal request to your secretary of the examination board. The examination board will then consider individually whether an extension can be granted in your case.

As all our bachelor's programs are taught in German we refer you to the German version of this page.

Registration

The registration of the thesis should, if possible, continue to be made in writing using the registration form. Due to the difficulty of getting all the signatures on the form in time, retrospective registrations in writing are also accepted (these should be submitted as soon as possible). The official date you have started your thesis will be the date your supervisor and you agreed on and have therefore written down on the form (always the 15th of a month). Even if the form was handed in after that date. The official processing time will be calculated starting with the date filled out on the registration.

If it is absolutely not possible for you to (retrospectively) hand in the registration form in writing, a digital registration will be accepted. The registration form must be sent by email from the supervisor or the advisor with the supervisor in cc to the contact person of your study program at the Office of Academic Programs (Servicebüro Studium). The name and email address of the contact person can be found on the website of your study program under "Contact". If you and / or the supervisor of your thesis should not be able to sign the registration form, the form may be send without the signature(s).

Submission
