After a break of two years due to the Corona pandemic the department's Summer Party for students, professors and employees took place in presence on June 2, 2022. More than 1.200 guests celebrated in the department's Magistrale and the beer garden. After the official opening of the event by the Dean Prof. Hans-Joachim Bungartz, the prizes for excellent teaching at the Department of Informatics were awarded, presented by the Dean of Studies, Prof. Thomas Neumann. The „Center of Doctoral Studies in Informatics and its Applications“ (CeDoSIA) honoured the best supervisors of doctoral students at the Department of Informatics. Every year the TUM doctoral students can nominate their supervisors for the Supervisory Award which is sponsered with 5.000 EUR by the "Bund der Freunde der TUM". Following a multi-stage selection procedure the best supervisors from each department are honored. After that the TUM-wide winner is elected on the occasion of the "Dies academicus". • 1st place: Prof. Martin Schulz (Chair for Computer Architecture and Parallel Systems)
  • 2nd place: Prof. Niels Thuerey (Professorship of Physics-based Simulation)
