Prof. Hans-Arno Jacobsen
Prof. Hans-Arno Jacobsen enjoys the reputation of a leading, international, technically adept researcher on the threshold between informatics, information technology and information systems.
His fundamental research includes topics such as middleware-architectures, event processing, service computing and approaches for the distributed management of business processes. In the application area, his research concentrates on the preparation of the transition of energy with regard to contributions to informatics. Thereby he collaborates frequently with industrial partners such as Bell Canada, Computer Associates, IBM or Sun Microsystems.
The IT business engineer works as a Humboldt professor at the Department of Informatics at the chair for Application and Middleware Systems. A research prize of up to 5 million Euros is associated to the distinction from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
