TUM project wins 2019 SAP Innovation Award


"Breakthrough in protein analysis advances war on cancer" honored

The TUM's SAP University Competence Center, managed by Dr. Harald Kienegger, was selected as a winner of the 2019 SAP Innovation Awards in the category "Digital Trailblazer". Their entry “Breakthrough in protein analysis advances war on cancer” aims to improve cancer treatment using the fast and flexible in-memory database SAP HANA.

Among 255 participating projects and 81 finalists, the TUM project was selected as an innovative and groundbreaking solution. The fundamental ProteomicsDB was developed at the Chair of Proteomics and Bioanalytics (Prof. Dr. Bernhard Küster). Since 2018, it runs as a digital service platform for both industry and research at the SAP University Competence Center of the Chair of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar).
