Accenture Campus Innovation Challenge 2018

And the winner is: "heARo" (Chair for Information Systems)

This year again teams from different universities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland competed against each other in the Campus Innovation Challenge of the consulting company Accenture. In the Campus Challenge, students learn to act as consultants and advance companies through innovative ideas. Under the motto "Greater as reality - how Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are changing our lives?”, the TUM under the direction of Dr. med. Markus Böhm and Andreas Hein at the Chair for Information Systems of Professor Helmut Krcmar sent three teams to the competition. In the first instance, the team HeldenTUM with its AR-Project "heARo" has prevailed against the internal competition. The vision of heARo is to integrate deaf employees more into everyday life with the help of augmented reality. For this purpose, the students use so-called Smart Glasses to display conversations directly on the glasses. After an excellent presentation, heARo triumphed against 59 teams from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
