Audi, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and additional partners are launching a new digitalization initiative, the "Automotive Initiative 2025" (AI25). The TUM campus Heilbronn will play a central role in this initiative aiming at creating a leading global network of expertise for digital factory transformation and innovation. “With the Automotive Initiative 2025, we have created a pioneering, interdisciplinary network between academia, research, IT companies and automobile manufacturing. The initiative uses sound science to drive the digital transformation of automobile production within the overall context of technology, organization and particularly continuing education,” explains Prof. Helmut Krcmar, former holder of the Chair for Information Systems and currently Delegate Officer of the president for TUM Campus Heilbronn.
