2 HiWi Open Positions:


1. CDB Open HiWi Position (Student / up to 8 hpw)

The Chair for Application and Middleware Systems at TUM is looking for a rockstar programmer for an open HiWi position. The selected candidate would be working on an automated tool that tests students‘ code submissions. The tool clones the student repo, builds Docker image, runs tests and generates the report.

Your profile

  • Have hands-on experience of Java/Kotlin, Docker, Gradle/Maven, MongoDB

  • Have a healthy interest in reading the documentation carefully and working independently

  • Can understand codebase built by others and work on top of it.

Your tasks

  • Take ownership of the automated testing tool (Deployment/Execution/Bug fixes/Change requests).

  • Conduct office hours to help the students.

  • Help the instructor to answer questions on Moodle.

2. DEBS Open HiWi Position (Student / up to 12 hpw)

The Chair for Application and Middleware Systems at TUM is looking for a rockstar programmer for an open HiWi position. The selected candidate would help the chair to organize an international ACM conference. The conference includes a programming challenge. The selected candidate will work on an existing open-source tool that will benchmark the latency and the throughput of participants‘ solutions.

Your profile

  • Have hands-on experience of Java, Gradle, PostgreSQL/MongoDB

  • Good concepts of networking and computer architecture

  • Have a healthy interest in reading the documentation carefully and working independently

  • Can understand codebase built by others and work on top of it

Your tasks

  • Take ownership of the benchmarking tool (Deployment/Execution/Bug fixes/Change requests).

  • Engage with the participants regarding the benchmarking tool.

  • Review participants‘ code
